Are you a 'people person' with a ready smile and great presentation? Then why not come and work in our brand new café! You'll be part of an enthusiastic, new team and get to work in award-winning surrounds, with a menu set by world famous chef, Ferran Adria.
Lavazza is renowned for its great coffee. So you'll need to appreciate the brand's proud history. You will also need to demonstrate:

This role would suit someone with previous customer service, and, food and beverage experience. Fluency in French, German, Chinese, Korean or Spanish would be helpful too.

Visitor Concierges

Are you one of those rare people who can make every visitor feel special? Do you love to help people and create up-sell opportunities?
We're looking for Visitor Concierges who can be many things: a director of first impressions, a problem solver, a diplomat, and an ambassador to name but a few.
Working at one of Chicago's most famous landmarks, you will:
- Meet and greet visitors
- Respond to visitor needs throughout all rostered aspects of John Hancock Observatory including – Guided Touring, Ticketing, Retail Sales, Hosting and Cafe Operations,
- Adapt tours and hosting activities to meet the varied needs of a diverse range of visitors,
- Proactively promote Chicago as a visitor destination, and
- Increase our brand awareness within the John Hancock Center.
Success in this role requires:
- A high level of competency in the English language,
- Sound verbal and written communication skills,
- Sound conflict resolution skills,
- Customer service experience, and
- Retail or Sales experience.
Ideally, you will possess a guiding or similar qualification as well as previous experience in the tourism industry. Proficiency in another language other than English would be an advantage.

Do you have previous management experience in an operations role? Can you juggle dealing with a hostile visitor, a leak in the toilets and a broken sound system all at once? We'd like to know, because right now we're searching for a new Operations Manager.
John Hancock Observatory is ready to embark on an exciting new era of growth thanks to an improved visitor offering that includes an award-winning cafe, comprehensive new branding and a major refurbishment. So now is a good time to jump onboard.
As Operations Manager you will lead, motivate and guide a team of Visitor Concierges to ultimately ensure visitor expectations are continually exceeded.
Reporting to the Director of Operations, you will possess:
- Proven ability to establish excellent working relationships across an organization,
- The stature, knowledge, personality and communication skills to rapidly gain credibility with those reporting to you,
- Proven ability to deliver effective training,
- Depth of experience and knowledge required to make sound judgements and decisions, and
- Excellent trouble-shooting skills.
A self-starter, you will be pragmatic, sensitive to the needs of a diverse workforce and always aware of the need for attention to detail.
